So I'm learning more about British English versus American English. I was reading through several of my students' tests and noticed so many of them used the term "maths" instead of math. I was so confused and thought it was wrong. Then I looked at one of their textbooks and it said "maths" not "math". I looked it up and "maths" is the British short form of mathematics. We Americans just shortened even more to "math". Isn't language weird and awesome?
I feel like the Bill Nye of the English language sometimes.
